AI adoption remains the main tailwind because companies need more cloud capacity, data tools, monitoring, and security before they can put AI into daily use. Processing data closer to users and devices is also gaining traction as factories, retailers, hospitals, and connected devices need faster local decisions. The headwinds are real: customers are still watching software bills closely, power and data-center limits can slow deployments, and higher financing costs make investors less forgiving.
Competition is increasing because AI and edge workloads are opening new product areas and pulling more vendors toward the same enterprise budgets. Large software platforms have an advantage because they can sell infrastructure, security, and developer tools to customers they already serve. Smaller entrants can still grow quickly, but many must spend heavily on product development and sales to be noticed.
The industry is still expanding because AI features need login tools, data management, monitoring, security, and cloud infrastructure underneath them. Near-term growth should stay broad, but customers are asking vendors to prove savings before they add users, usage, or new features. That makes growth stronger for software customers cannot easily replace and tougher for tools they can postpone.

The second is cloud cost control, because customers can cut unused capacity, delay migrations, or renegotiate contracts when bills rise faster than budgets.
